And Thereafter is an audiovisual installation designed as a contemporary response to the historic Al Koot Fort. Constructed in 1906, the fort has been at a confluence between the market area and the seaside port and is now in a central location between Souq Waqif and Msheireb. The project draws upon the surrounding areas for content and inspiration, weaving together traditional and modern aspects of daily life, translating and transforming them into surreal sensory environments. The video projections and soundscapes play in an asynchronous loop creating a generative experience that evolves over time. The installation uniquely activates the space mixing immersive technologies with cultural heritage and architecture.
